She was predeceased by: her parents, Ed Hayes and Rebecca Gilbert Hayes; her husband Elmer Smith (Blue); her brothers, O'Neal Middleton (Louise), Paul Ed Hayes (Ellen) and Rowland; and her sister-in-law Georgia Short Smith.
She is survived by: her son George Smith (Norma) of Harlan; her grandchildren, Rebecca Cope (Matt) of Cumberland, KY and Stephen Smith (Kayla) of Georgetown, KY.; her great grandchildren, Blake Cope, Noah Smith and Emily Smith; and her sisters, Pansy Short (Joe) and Mona Griffith. She is also survived by caregivers, the daughters.
