He was predeceased by: his parents, George Childers and Cynthia Jones Childers; his daughter Kim Muncy; his siblings, George Milton Childers, Betty Tipton, Lorene Maxwell, Nancy Osborne and Glenda Childers; and his nephew Billy Joe Spaulding.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Childers of Jonesville, VA; his sons, Joe Childers Jr. (Chasity) of Jonesville, VA and George Childers of Jonesville, VA; his siblings, Paul Childers of Harlan, KY, Blanche Posey (Dickie) of Cranks, KY and Helen Bumgardner (Albert) of Harlan, KY; his grandchildren, Taylor, Jacob, Colton, Devon Childers of Jonesville, VA and Ashley Muncy of Harlan, KY; and his close friends, Jerry Clayborn, Ray Garrett, Scott Lawson, Ricky Kelly, Jimmy, Tonya Roberts and Cynthis Wilson.
Due to the mandate set forth by the governor of Kentucky, attendees must wear a mask at all times, practice social distancing and only 60% of our capacity is allowed.
