She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Gene Gibson; her parents, Beckham Shoemaker and Hannah Ethel Gilbert Shoemaker; her brothers, Jimmy Allen Shoemaker, Elmer Shoemaker, Bentley Shoemaker and John Henry Shoemaker; and her nephew Mike Shoemaker.

She is survived by: her sons, Mark Gibson (Denice) and Rodney Gibson (Andrea); her siblings, Herbert Shoemaker, Charlie Shoemaker of Hamilton, OH, Zella Messer of Hamilton, OH, Ruth Clark (Keith), Billie Disney of Clearwater, FL and Shannon Brashears; and her grandsons, Robert Gibson, Alex Gibson and Zach Gibson.
