He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Howard and Lillian Smith Howard; his siblings, Donnie Howard and Nancy Bird; and his parents-in-law, Wayne and Earldene Powell.
He is survived by: his wife Waynetta Powell Howard; his children, Page Lunsford (Mitchell) and Bobby Howard II (Katherine Lowther); his brother Jack Howard (Rita) of Knoxville, TN; and his grandchildren, Taylor Lunsford, Peyton Lunsford, Little Mitchell Lunsford, Bobby Lowther and Janeway Howard. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
