He is survived by: his wife Anita of Kirk, KY.; his children, Dewey Allen Dever, III (Sarah), Christina Dever (Jason Thomas) of Kirk, KY, Jennifer Dever (Travis Coogle) of Leitchfield, KY and Cheryl Whitehead (Paul) of Waddy, KY.; his grandchildren, Dakota Allen Dever (Autumn Moran), Dylan Michael Dever, Destiney Brooks Dever, Nicky Colgan, Ashlee Colgan, Katlyn Whitehead, Ryan Whitehead, Camden DeWitt, Lauren Whitehead, Brooklynn Whitehead, Shahanah Thomas, Tajaa Thomas, Nihzha Thomas and Te'Zhan Fletcher; his great grandchild Aliah Hunt; and his siblings, George Dale Dever (Vivian) of Fairdale, KY., Doris Jean Nichols of Wisconsin, Linda York of Louisville, KY and Donna Masterson of Indiana.
