He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edgar Thompson, Sr. and Martha Lee Thompson (Thompson). He is survived by: his wife Donna Thompson (Holly) of Hardin, KY.; his children, Hope McMillan (Steven) of Branchville, SC., John David Thompson, Jr. (Vikki) of St. Matthews, SC and Andrew Thompson (Martha) of Barnwell, SC.; his stepson Scott Johnson (Lee Ann) of Martin, TN.; his grandchildren, Ashlyn Thompson, Drew Thompson (Kelly), Lindsay Jameson (Matthew), Haley Kemp (Zach), Anna Linder (Chris), Holly Johnson, Maegan Johnson and Grayson Thompson; his great grandchildren, Miquel Smith, Brantley Wood, Aubrey Wood, Bryce Thompson, Ava Thompson and Wrynlee Linder; and his sister Carolyn Davis (Ray) of Orangeburg, SC.
