He was predeceased by: his parents, Phillip Thompson and Charlene Lovett Thompson; his wife Shirley York Thompson; his daughter Gena Renae Thompson; and his brother Gerald Thompson.
He is survived by: his sons, Ron Thompson (Dawn Hale) of Olive, KY and Mat Thompson (Tiffany Frizzell) of Olive, KY; and his grandchildren, Lauren Brown (Shaun), Travis Thompson (Katie) and Aaron Thompson.
