He was predeceased by: his parents, Tommie Thompson and Bonnie Tooley Thompson; his wife Betty Hudson Thompson; his daughter Carla Thompson; and his siblings, Florence Thompson and George Thompson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Amy Thompson (Richard Parish) of Ohio, Sheila Johancsik of Florida and Sister Martha Smith; his brother Lawrence Thompson; his grandchildren, Marcy Stills, Stacy Ioia and Melissa Donnelly; his great grandchildren, Patrick Guedj, Kacey Gregory, Michael Ioia, Madison Ioia, Emma Donnelly, Shane Donnelly and Arianna Nunez; and his great great grandchildren, Layla Hibbs, Maverick Gregory, Oaklynn Caraballo, Avery Ioia and Makenna Metcalf.
