He was predeceased by: his parents, Oka Etchel Tackett and Jessie Myrtle Frazier Tackett; his son-in-law Robert Dawson; his father-in-law Chester Spriggs; his siblings, Danny, Bud, Donald, James, Betty Jean Tackett, Charlotte Thacker and Virginia LeMaster; his nephew Chris Tackett; and his great-niece Katlin Daniels.
He is survived by: his wife Theresa Spriggs Tackett; his daughter Vera Tackett Dawson of Michigan City, Indiana; his siblings, Roger Dean Tackett of Flat Gap, Kentucky, Peggy LeMaster (Darrell) of Staffordsville, Frances Scott (Danny) of Staffordsville, Judy Young (Joe) of Beattyville and Patricia Sue Blair of Springfield, Ohio; his mother-in-law Josephine Spriggs of Meally, Kentucky; and his grandchildren, Joseph Dawson and Jenna Dawson.
