He was predeceased by: his parents, Archer Shepherd and Mary Marsillett Shepherd; his sons, Jessie Lee Shepherd and Richie Owen Shepherd; and his siblings, Wade Shepherd, William Shepherd, Abe Shepherd, Richard Joe Shepherd, Archer Jr. Shepherd, John Henry Shepherd, Daisy Wireman, Birdie Stidman, Betty Hicks, Margie Tackett, Polly Williamson and Adna Hale.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Lou Shepherd; his daughters, Tracy Ann Shepherd (Curt Ramsey) of Port Charolette, Stacy Lynn Shepherd of Gunlock and Melissa Hurd (Paul) of Gunlock, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Reggie, Deanna, Lonnie, Sarah, Justin, Kayla, Mary and Melinda; and his sisters, Shirley Shepherd Minix of Gunlock, Donna Johnson of Gunlock and Sally Bailey of Ohio. He is also survived by 8 Great Grandchildren.
