It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Nicholas Newman of Grethel, Kentucky, born in Portsmouth, Ohio, who passed away on January 3, 2022, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thurman Newman and Melvina Perry Newman; and his sister-in-law Janice Newman. He is survived by: his wife Betty Nelson Newman; his children, Nelson Ryan Newman, Jonathan Newman (Rebecca Fraley) of Van Lear, KY and Melanie Renee Combs (Douglas) of Winchester, KY; his brothers, James "Jim" Newman (Ruby) of Harold, KY and Larry Newman of Lexington, KY; and his granddaughter Ashton.
