He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Garris and Fairy Garris; his wife Earline Garris; his sister Edith Williams; his son-in-law Darrell Lear; and his great grandchild Walter Crowe Lear.
He is survived by: his children, Maletha Lear of Greenville and Randy Garris (Robbie) of Greenville; his grandchildren, Quentin Lear (Elyssa) of Greenville, Shawn Garris (Sharon) of Hopkinsville and Brandy Jones; his stepgrandchildren, Jill Wood and Eric Wood; his great grandchildren, Jaxson Lear, Corbin Lear of Alisha Garris, R. J, William Jones, Aliyah Jones and Teanna Hollis; and his sisters, Mary (Donald Williams) and Evelyn Williams of Graham. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
