He was predeceased by: his parents, Buren Brooks and Hilda Brooks. He is survived by: his wife Thelma Brooks; his sons, Scottie Brooks (Evelyn) of Greenville and Jamie Brooks (Renee) of Greenville; his grandchildren, Leander, Andrew, Coty, Logan and Noah; his great grandchildren, Kanaan, Lyla, Lynkan, Tucker, Easton, Paris, Brason, Quaden, Carter, Kason, Kamden, Ellie and Mia; and his brothers, Owen Brooks (Bonnie) and Marvin Brooks. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
