He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Mayes and Anna Kimmell (Mayes). He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Mayes (Piper); his children, Brian Piper (Chasity), Ashley Richardson (Allen), Janet Moore and Judy Mayes; his grandchildren, Clayton Piper, Tinsley Piper and Bryson Piper; and his sister Dorothy Brooks.
