He was predeceased by: his parents, Eulah Mayes and Althea Willoughby Mayes; and his great grandchild Mallory Falkenberg. He is survived by: his wife Genevieve Mayes; his children, David Mayes (Melanie) of Greenville, Kentucky, Timothy Mayes of Paducah, Kentucky, Daniel Mayes (Lisa) of McIntyre, Georgia, Theresa Barnabee of Russellville, Kentucky, Cynthia Falkenberg (Larry) of Milledgeville, Georgia, Rebecca Flair (Donald) of Smyrna, Tennessee and Jessica King (Micah) of Greenville, Kentucky; and his siblings, Thomas Mayes (Shirley) of Central City, Kentucky, Larry Mayes (Pam) of Central City, Kentucky and Jean Felton of Kansas City, Missouri.. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
