She was predeceased by: her husband Jerry Mercer; her parents, Ludie Barnes and Martha Louise Barnes (Harris); her stepfather Shelly Covington; her siblings, Jack Barnes and Josia Lawerence; and her great grandchild Houston Duran Wynn.
She is survived by: her daughters, Kathy Whitehouse (Jerry) and Jessica Garrett (Billy); her sisters, Geneva Schultz (Russell), Jonelle Rolley and Shirley Wentmoth; and her sister-in-law Mattie Barnes. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
