He was predeceased by: his wife Phyllis McIntosh Newman; and his parents, Moody Newman and Woody Newman. He is survived by: his sons, Tony Newman (Lana) and Jeff Newman (Susan); his grandchildren, Sheena Phelps (Nathan), Mark Bennett (Amanda), Callie Newman and Grace Newman; his sister Wanda Johnson; and his sisters-in-law, Helen Dukes and Sharon McIntosh. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
