He was predeceased by: his parents, Margie Kennedy and Buell Kennedy; his son Bruce Alan Kennedy; his sister Jewell Hardwick; and his former wife Anna Blake Kennedy.

He is survived by: his wife Rose Boria Kennedy; and his son Keith Kennedy. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
