With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sandra Jean VanHoose (Greenup, Kentucky), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 19, 2024 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her brother Glen Larry VanHoose; her daughters, Johnda and Johnetta Hatfield; her former husband John Allen Hatfield; her husband Charles Vemont "Jack" Lutz; her nephew Jared Dale Lother; her niece Marilyn VanHoose Jeffers; and her brothers-in-law, Jerry C. Lother and Clarence Edgar Wilbur.

She is survived by: her daughter Pamala Darlene VanHoose Taylor; her son-in-law Randall Keith Taylor; her siblings, Patricia Ann VanHoose Wilbur, Terry Lee VanHoose (Kathleen), Marcellia Sharon VanHoose Lother, Floyd VanHoose and Lloyd VanHoose (Julia); her sister-in-law Deborah Sue Anderson VanHoose; and her cousin Linda Tackett Wright (Roland). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Reed Funeral Home (612 Main St, Greenup, KY 41144). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.

Michelle Caldwell wrote a sympathy message

“Jean was an absolute wonderful mother and friend. She was so kind to me growing up. I remember all the times she would drive me and Darlene (as Jean always called Pam) to band practice. She would get so involved in our conversations that her driving speed would drop 10 miles under the speed limit. I know she loved Pam more than life. I’ll always cherish all the times we danced in the kitchen and acted silly. My heart goes out to Pam and the family. Sending prayers.”
