He was predeceased by: his parents, John Conard Wurts and Lucy Boyles Runyon; and his brother-in-law William "Willy" Chafens. He is survived by: his nephew John David Baker; his wife Lee Ann Wurts; his stepfather Lowell "Tommy" Runyon; his children, Courtney Wurts and JC Wurts (Beth); his cousin Justin Parsons; his stepdaughter Kara Duncan (Carl); his grandchildren, Benjamin Michael Wurts, Ava Wurts, Catlyn Wurts, Ian Murphy (Victoria) and Ethan Vanallen; his great grandchildren, Elena Ann Murphy and Jordan Michael Murphy; and his sisters, Michele Barcus (Kenneth), Connie Chafens (Gene), Angela Chafens, Loretta Baker (Harold Triplett), Cheryl Waller, Rhonda Butler and Kimberly Ewell.
