He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Wesley and Ruie Griffith Rister; and his brothers, Leonard Rister and Roger Rister. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Sue Callihan Rister; his children, Donald E. Rister (LeighAnn) of Minford and Kristine Rister Willis of Greenup; his grandchildren, Stephen Rister, Shelby Rister Murnahan (Chase), Sidney Rister, Jordan Willis and Kelsie Willis (Nick Ashley); his great grandchildren, Jackson Rister, Silas Rister and Leland Murnahan; and his siblings, Melvin W. Rister Jr. of Lexington and Norma Stevens (Clifford) of Georgetown, KY. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, his neighbors and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 8th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Wright's Funeral Home (1017 E Main St, Greenup, KY 41144). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
