With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sonnie Wayne Matney of Greensburg, Kentucky, who passed away on September 27, 2023 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Sonnie Matney and Lula Edwards Matney; his former wife Joyce Matney; and his siblings, Lenora Faulkner, Susie Hedgespeth, Phillip Matney and Robert Matney.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Risen Matney of Greensburg; his son Mike Matney of Greensburg; his grandchildren, Sarah Biscan (Luke) of Glasgow and Michael Matney (Cheyenne) of Campbellsville; his great grandchildren, Bennett Biscan, Addicus Biscan, Jasper Biscan, Beckham Matney and Campbell Matney; his daughter-in-law Kim Matney of Greensburg; his brother Gleason; his sister-in-law Betty Matney; and his sisters, Anne Harmon and Stella Louise (Dennis Whitlock). He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
