She was predeceased by: her parents, Wesley Woodford Akin, Sr. and Grace Henderson Akin; her husband James "Heavy" Paxton; her son J. D. Paxton; her daughter-in-law Judy Paxton; and her siblings, Robert Akin, Wesley Akin, Jr., Theodore Akin, Lillie May Akin and Leonard T. Akin.
She is survived by: her son Terry; her daughter-in-law Karen Paxton; her grandchildren, Nick Paxton (Diann) of Summersville and Anne Beard (Jason) of Summersville; her great grandchildren, Braeden Paxton, Jasey Beard and Brylee Paxton; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Kyle Wilson, Cody Wilson and Kane Wilson (Brittani); her great great grandchildren, Hadley Wilson and Arlo Wilson; and her close friend Emily Aaron House.
The family has requested that donations to be made to the Bethlehem Cemetery Fund or to the Green Hill Activity Fund.
