She was predeceased by: her parents, James Robert Gowen and Matha Florence Carter Gowen; and her siblings, Raymond "Hoppy" Gowan, J. C. Gowen and Ruth Ann Campbell.
She is survived by: her son Rev. Michael Steven Pruitt of Richmond; and her grandchildren, Jessica (Shannon Pruitt) of Richmond, Jennifer Lynn Pruitt of Richmond, Melissa (Steve Rousey) and Chester (Julie Humphrey). She is also survived by four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.
