He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Buckner and Mollie Curry Buckner; and his siblings, Roberta Davenport, Dixie Hagan, Billy Buckner and Elroy Buckner.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Gayle Rhinehart Buckner; his children, Melissa Rhinehart of Metcalfe County, Sarah (Jason Zabel), Bobby Whitlow of Metcalfe County and Randy Otis Buckner of Green County; his grandchildren, Hunner Whitlow, Katie of Lexington, Lukas Hubbard of Metcalfe County, Aliya Hubbard of Metcalfe County, Austin Hubbard of Metcalfe County, Kora Whitlow of Green County, Alijah Zabel of Green County, Gabrael Zabel of Green County, Dominick Zabel of Green County, Karter Zabel of Green County, Landon Purvis of Green County, Oliver Hall of Green County and Anderson Hall of Green County; his sister Janey; his brother-in-law Bobby Compton of Little Barren; his brothers, Bobby Joe (Joyce Buckner) and James (Jeanne Buckner); and his pet Biscuit. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home (206 S Main St, Greensburg, KY 42743). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at the Clack Cemetery.
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Family Burial Fund which can be made at the funeral home.
