She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Lawson and Irene Damron Lawson; her husband W. J. "Doug" McAlister; and her siblings, J. C. Lawson, Thurston Lawson and Leatrice Joy Gillum.
She is survived by: her children, Angela Howard (Ed) of Ashland, Robin Wilcox (Jeff) of Grayson, Danielle Sparks (Rick) of Grayson, Mark Pope (Michelle) of Williamstown, Dennis Pope (Erin) of Flatwoods and Dwayne McAlister of Grayson; and her brother Joe Ray Lawson (Judy) of Rush. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
