He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Sammons and Florence Hay Sammons; and his siblings, Elmer Sammons, Delmar Sammons, Bradley Sammons, Denzil Ross, Virgil Ross, Clyde Ross, Russell Ross, Cathleen Boggs, Margie Bellew, Betty Jane Polodak and Edna Mary Bailey.
He is survived by: his wife Charlene Rogers Sammons; his children, Walter Sammons, Jr. (Jennie) of Grayson, Roger Keith Sammons (Lisa) of Grayson and Beverly Carol Whitt (Bryan) of Grayson; his sisters, Madgie Mills of Grayson and Freda Bellamy of Bridgeville, PA; his grandchildren, Kisha Tussey (Larry), Jennifer Guyton (Chris), Jessica Sammons, Marcy Puckett (Taelor), Brady Sammons, Chris Whitt and Shaun Whitt (Heather); and his great grandchildren, Alex, Stephany, Averie, Seth and Harper.
