He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Salyers and Maudie Adams Salyers; his wife Ruby Messer Salyers; his children, Michael Salyers and Patricia Salyers; and his siblings, Donald, Everett, Charles, Howard, Larry, Lowell Salyers and Edna McAnich.
He is survived by: his children, Jeff Salyers of Grayson, Debbie Shavers (Bobby) of Grayson, Sandra Reed (Tim Johnston) of Grayson and Tena Sloas (Frank) of Grayson; and his sisters, Judy Collins, Hester Oney, Esta Pennington, Lucy Miles and Imogene Adams. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
