He is survived by: his mother Carrie Lou Peffer Layne; his wife Cathy Kretzer Layne; his children, Christopher Layne of Grayson and Sheena Layne; his son-in-law Jason Meadows of Grayson; his siblings, Beverly Triplett (John) of Grayson and Brent Layne (Kim) of Grayson; his grandchildren, Alyssa Layne, Mason Layne, Annalise Meadows, Sydney Meadows Jarvis and Cooper Meadows; and his great grandchild Maya Grace Jarvis.
