She was predeceased by: her mother Hattie Legg; and her siblings, Bernice Hughes, Elbert, Curtis and Herold Legg.

She is survived by: her children, Chris Messer, Sonya Bostic and Brian Bostic; and her grandchildren, Erica Neal, Christopher Lane, Jerrod Coles, Allison Liddle, Nathan Bostic, Jada Taylor and Beth Evans. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
