He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter "Red" and Mattie Porter Maggard; his wife Anna Vanlandingham; his daughter Eavelyn Fryer; and his siblings, Joanne Cox, Frank, Homer and Bobby Gene Maggard.
He is survived by: his daughter Evelyn King (Derreck) of Ashland; his brother Jack Maggard of Wurtland; his grandchildren, David Anderson, Tabitha Skaggs, Craig Leo Fryer and Shane Steed; and his great grandchildren, Summer Skaggs, Wynter Skaggs, Nevaeh Fryer, Ethyn Fryer and Mason Newland.
