With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joyce May Smith (Grayson, Kentucky), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 4, 2024 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Francis and Virginia Mary Gillapp McConnell; her siblings, Richard "Dick" Zweimiller, Walt McConnell, Jr., Wayne McConnell, Billy McConnell, Frank McConnell, Ruth Hawes and Marguerite Borchardt (Marge); and her son Douglas "Dougie" McBrayer.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Alfrey, Suzi Helmondollar (Charlie), Kayla Smith, Johnny Smith (Peggy) and Curtis "Bunts" Smith; her daughter-in-law Jennifer McBrayer; her grandchildren, Kaitlin Goss, Jesse Alfrey, Tara Carter, Shawna Wolfe, Peri Walters, Eva Mcintosh, Ethan Smith, Bradley McBrayer, Kendra Evans, Jackson McBrayer, Kyle Smith, Alex Smith and Faith Alfrey; and her husband John Edward "Ebbie" Smith. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
