He was predeceased by: his parents, Tom Shepherd and Hannah Ison Shepherd; his son Bret Shepherd; and his siblings, Geraldine Mills, Judy Privette, Irene Stone, Iva Mae Perdue, Bill Shepherd and Eugene Shepherd.
He is survived by: his children, Nick Shepherd (Debbie) of Louisville, KY, Sherry Wells (Clyde) of Grayson and Candy Hall (Jeff) of Winston-Salem, NC; his grandchildren, Crystal Shepherd, Josh Wells, Jessica Huffman (Ricky), Heath Hall and Drew Hall (Natalie); his great grandchildren, Bryce Whitman, Sierra Whitman and Sienna Hall; and his close friend Elaine Carper. He is also survived by friends and extended family.
