He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde B. Stephens and Clara Stephens; and his brother Clyde Burton Stephens, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Kay Stephens; his sons, James (Stephens, Jr.), Tim Stephens (Alsia) of Grayson and Ben Stephens of Grayson; and his siblings, Ann Grizzle of Russell, KY, Phillip Stephens of Flatwoods, John Stephens of Raceland, Tom Stephens of Russell and Steve Stephens of Flatwoods. He is also survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
