It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Burton of Grayson, Kentucky, born in Hitchins, Kentucky, who passed away on July 7, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Burton and Agnes McGuire Burton; his wife Dorothy Louise Shepherd Burton; his son George Burton; his granddaughter Francis; his great grandchild Emma Jane; and his siblings, Freda Thompson, Wilma Ratcliff and John Burton.
He is survived by: his children, James Franklin Burton, Jr. (Corliss) of Webbville, John Trent Burton of Grayson, Connie Autry (Dale) of Ringgold, GA, Judy Brittingham (Robert) of Chattanooga, TN and Peggy Bell (Galen) of Ooltewah, TN; his daughter-in-law Alice Burton of Grayson; his sister Linda Blanton (Chuck); and his sister-in-law Flo Burton of Hitchins. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
