He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Sr. Johnson and Thelma Elizabeth Seagraves Johnson; his siblings, Agnes Cordella Gump, Sylvia Loucille Stambaugh, Julia Joyce Pennington, Roy Morrison Hays and Curtis Elmer Johnson; and his niece Elizabeth "Beth" Ann Hall (Randy Hall).

He is survived by: his caregivers, Barbie Pennington (Matt Kittles), Nancy Pennington (Pierre) and Jimmy Pennington (Malinda); and his great-nephew Logan Hall (Stephanie).
