He was predeceased by: his parents, Coy Kouns and Kathleen Burton Kouns; his sisters, Ella Nora Kouns, Phyllis Flaugher and Kay Kouns Keyes; his son-in-law Michael McDowell; and his grandson Matthew McDowell.
He is survived by: his children, Coy Kouns (Lindsey) of Nicholasville, KY, Aaron Kouns (Keri) of Franklin Furnace, OH, Miki Kouns (Donna) of Georgetown, KY and Missie McDowell of Nicholasville, KY; and his siblings, Perry Kouns (Donna) of Grayson, KY and Susie Kouns of Hitchins, KY. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
