He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Knipp and Susan Stevens Knipp; his grandson Blaine Allen Knipp; his siblings, Mary Ridgeway of Bellbrook and Clyde Knipp of Circleville; and his aunt Ida Stevens of Sandy Hook.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Alexander Knipp; his children, Denise Porter and Scott Knipp (Robin) of Grayson; his grandchildren, Kate Blankenship (Isaiah), Abby Barker (Daniel) of Olive Hill, Jasper, Tucker and Elijah Knipp of Grayson; his great grandchildren, Caleb of Olive Hill, Evan Blankenship of Olive Hill, Silas of Olive Hill and Sadie Jane Barker of Olive Hill; his sister Cloma Sturgill (Wesley) of Sandy Hook, KY; his sister-in-law Dorothy Knipp of Circleville, Ohio.; and his caregivers, Brenda Wade, Mindy, Emily and Sherry Wolfe of Community Hospice.
During this time, he once played in a charity event basketball game against the Harlem Ambassadors, which would later become the Harlem Globetrotters.
