He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Edgar Rice and Hazel Irene Whitt Harrison; his children, Darlene Rice and Phillip Wayne Rice; his brother James Earl Rice; and his former wife Rosie Gilbert Rice.
He is survived by: his wife Emma Elizabeth Qualls Rice; his children, Charlene Rice of Vanceburg, KY, Melinda Rice of Greenup, KY, Dorothy Harlow (Vernon) of Vanceburg, KY and Jimmy Wayne Rice of Versailles, KY; and his brother Everett Rice of Grayson, KY.. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren.
