He was predeceased by: his parents, Haskell Burke Sr. and Lula Belle Adkins Burke; his wife Lois Reeves Burke; and his siblings, Chester Burke, Haskell Burke, Jr., Eugene Burke and Geraldine Burke.

He is survived by: his children, Teresa Britt (Steve) of Hendersonville, NC, Tim Burke (Karen) of Asheville, NC, Terry Burke (Robin) of Asheville, NC and Perry Burke (Robin) of Asheville, NC; his brother Clyde Burke (Joyce) of Grayson; and his close friend Garnet Lewis of Grayson. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
