He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Adkins and Laura Scott Adkins; and his siblings, Billy Adkins, David Adkins, Ronald Adkins, Pat Holbrook, Betty Brown, Frances Brown and Dottie Horner.
He is survived by: his wife Esther Mariah Lucas Adkins; his children, Jamie Adkins (Kelly) of Columbus, Ohio, Darren Adkins of Columbus, Ohio, Kim Adkins of Columbus, Michelle Adkins of Columbus and Santanna Bentley of Grayson, Kentucky; his stepdaughter Renita Ciccone Bentley of South Point, Ohio; his brother Donald Adkins of Ashland, Kentucky; and his daughter Anita Scott of Michigan. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
