It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Darrell Smith (Grayson, Kentucky), born in Ashland, Kentucky, who passed away on February 20, 2023, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanford Smith and Jewell Smith; his wife Margaret Smith; his granddaughter Tiffany Cornwell; and his siblings, Avonell Wells, Billy Smith, Dora Mae Whitt and Stanford Smith Jr..

He is survived by: his nephew Mark Cox (Cheryl); his grandchildren, Mika Derifield (Nate Ohl), Jeff Rager (Hilary), Baylee Rager (Allen Lostaglia), Teryn Rager, Richard Halcombe III (Samantha), Kayla Pereira (Nick) and Marissa Smith; and his sisters, Carolyn Cox (Milton), Patricia Winkler (Chuck) and Karen Hackworth (Fred). He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
