He was predeceased by: his parents, Elijah Joe and Monnie Carolyn Halterman Horton; his wife Rebecca "Becky" Darlene Wagoner Horton; and his grandparents, John Tavis, Della Dinkens Horton, Ralph and Amanda Griffith Halterman.
He is survived by: his children, Rick Horton of Lexington, Michael Horton (Jessica) of Hitchins, Travis Horton of Grayson and Nikki Horton McDavid (Eric); his sister Connie Knipp of Grayson; and his grandchildren, Stephen Michael Horton, Johnathan Lee Horton, Violet Catherine McDavid and Elijah "Eli" Matthew McDavid.
