He was predeceased by: his parents, Maggie Hicks and Orie Hicks; his parents-in-law, Ernest and Jeanette Smith; his siblings, Venice, Robert, Ken, Billy Hicks, Kathleen Smith and Bernice Larsen; his brothers-in-law, Paul Alan Smith, Chan Smith and Gene Larsen; and his nephews, David Arthur and Tyler Hicks.

He is survived by: his wife Melinda; his children, Kevin and Michelle; his children-in-law, Christina and Scott; his grandchildren, Logan Hicks (Cameron), Connor Hicks (Abby), Meredith Cima (Coby), Cole Hicks (Promise), Makenna Dickerson (Grant), Maddie Jo Russell and Raylan Hicks; his great grandchildren, Kyden Russell and Blake Cima; his sisters, Joyce Gooding (Bob) and Teresa Haynes (Jerry); his sisters-in-law, Betsy Hicks, Paula Stephens (David) and Marilyn Ellenburg; and his nieces and nephews, Jim Hicks (Mellanie) and Jordan Ellenburg.
