He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Williamson and Carrie Janie Reardon Gilpin; his son David Ernest Gilpin; his siblings, Ernie Gilpin, Virginia Montgomery and Mattie Marie Newton; and the mother of his children Allisia Gay Gilpin.
He is survived by: his son Carlos Gilpin, Jr.; his significant other Heather Young; his significant other's son Blake Wren; his siblings, Jennifer Alsman of Loretto, Roberta Gilpin of Lebanon, Tammy Maddox (Rodney) of Gravel Switch, Wanda Stratton of Mitchellsburg, Martha Sexton (David) of Junction City, Danny Gilpin (Mary Belcher) of Lebanon, Anthony Gilpin (Louise) of Gravel Switch and Charlie Gilpin (Ann) of Mitchellsburg; his grandchildren, Madison Richards, Marisa Nulle and Mark "Bubba" Nulle; and his great grandchild Rowan. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home (5590 Hwy 2141, Hustonville, KY 40437). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
