She was predeceased by: her husband James W. Brown, Sr.; her parents, Wallace Lee Howell and Ernestine Flannery Howell; her brothers, Ernest Howell and Dwight Howell; her granddaughter Ashley Brown; and her great grandchild Ella Garner.
She is survived by: her children, Jacqueline Hackney (Danny), James Brown, Jr. (Rhonda), Smithland and Jerry Brown (Katalin); her siblings, Barbara Hearell (Carl) of Benton, KY, Becky Smith (Grand), Juanita Rowland (Grand), Alvin Howell of Oklahoma, Hubert Howell (Jan), Herbert Howell (Grand) and Malcolm Howell (Brenda); her grandchildren, Andrea Hubbard, Kendra Glenn, Nathan Hackney, Kayla Brown, Kari Garner and Elizabeth Fitzgerald; and her great grandchildren, Joshua Hubbard, Sidney Hubbard, Brady Glenn, Mia Glenn, Ethan Garner, Lily Garner, Emory Garner, Ciara Hackney, Dixie Hackney and Kennadee Doom. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
