He was predeceased by: his wife Lois Hill Owen; his parents, Riley Owen and Viola Mae Griffin Owen; and his siblings, Ruth Hook, Galena Stewart, Opal Jean Medley and Wesley Owen.
He is survived by: his brother Hollis Dale Owen (Judy) of Kuttawa, KY; and his sisters-in-law, Ann Guill (Ronnie) of Smithland, KY and Jean Taylor of LaCenter, KY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
