He is survived by: his wife Charlene Wells Poynter; his children, Letha Bray (Steven) of Glasgow and Kelly Poynter (Angela) of Glasgow; his stepson Cody Spillman of Glasgow; his grandchildren, Brianna Miller, Charlie Miller, Paige Fields (Gavin), Taylor Poynter, Haley Poynter, Austin Poynter, Madelyn Kelleher, Marley Kelleher, Silas Bray and Ila Bray; his great grandchildren, Emryn Gentry, Bailyn Miller, Colby Poynter and David Cooper Fields; his siblings, Linda Appleby (Donald) and Von Poynter of Columbus; his son-in-law Shannon Berryman; and the mother of his children Jenny Lou Elmore. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
