He was predeceased by: his parents, Exel Keen and Shirley Faye Johnson Keen; and his brother Timmy Keen. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann Keen; his children, Heather Blankenship (Steven Smith), Amber Howard and Derek Keen; his grandchildren, Jessie Minor and Jaylin Blankenship; his great grandchildren, Elli Minor and Layla Keen; his brother Tony Keen; and his stepmother Evelyn Poynter.
