He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Carlos Matthews and Berta Francis Basil Matthews; his children-in-law, Vikki Matthews and Robbie Love; and his granddaughter Ayana Michele.

He is survived by: his children, Jason Matthews of Glasgow, Amy Love of Park City and Stephanie Carter of Glasgow; and his grandchildren, Jared Love, Shelby Love, Isaiah Love, Seth Love, Jasmine Matthews and Lucas Carter.
